The foremost mini-coral island of Kurangon within the municipal water of Brgy. Baybay, the spring resort in Brgy. Cale, the
Bugsukan Falls in Brgy. Misibis, the mini-falls in Brgy. Lourdes, the beach resorts in barangays Sugod and Lourdes, the Taqui
cave and waterfalls in Brgy. San Bernardo, and Busay Falls in barangays Biyong and Cale are among the municipality.
The Council was reactivated last November 8, 2004 thru an Executive Order No. 19 Series of 2004 in consonance with the MC
No. 2002-81 and MC No. 2004-028 coming from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Office of the Governor
respectively regarding the Organization/Reactivation of the Culture and Arts Councils in all LGU Levels to play an important
role in the development, promotion as well as the preservation of the Filipino culture.
FUNCTIONS
Prepare an annual plan on culture and arts programs and activities to be integrated in the local development plan.
Ensure the protection, preservation and conservation of the local cultural and historical heritage.
In coordination with the private sector, conduct cultural events such as cultural festivals, competition, lectures, seminars,
fora and symposia.
Encourage the development of local cultural industries.
Conduct periodic inventory of local cultural object and sites in coordination with the National Commission for Culture
and the Arts.
Coordinate with other existing local culture and the arts councils.
